Baby boy (a boy by all ultrasound appearances) is due in mid May. Only 6 weeks left to go if he follows his brother's footsteps! Theodore was born pretty much exactly on time; we had two due dates for him and he came in between them. We are pretty ready for baby to come now, as I've been nesting crazily since Christmas and among other completed household projects recently finished putting the final touches up in the nursery. This involved a rearrangement of our whole house, as Theo was still sleeping in the crib until a few weeks ago. He has since transitioned amazingly well to a twin mattress, and the crib is now in the new nursery... which in turn meant moving the futon... for some reason it also meant a day spent switching curtains around from one room to another (my poor husband, David). But at long last the room is done and our house is in order.
Here are some pictures:
 |
| View from the doorway- while still in progress. The futon is now in the family room, and the crib has been moved over. The Wall decals were amazingly from the dollar store ($6 for all). |
 |
| View from the doorway with the crib in place and final wall hangings. The giant bunny was mine as a child. |

| View of the other side of the room |

| Close up of the lovely Etsy woodland animal prints (find them here) and the super cute felt fox my sister hand made! As well, I found the perfect home for the lovely hand-dyed Ukrainian Easter Egg a friend of mine gave me for Easter a few years ago. Bonus: woodsy picture frames were also from the dollar store. |

| Close up of the valence. We reused & transformed some of Theo's baby decor. This valence was part of his jungle themed nursery, and I stitched the little owl over the lion using scraps... the owl's beak is actually part of the lion's face. |
 |
| Close up of my nook: all ready for late night feeding and reading. And currently home to the little owl pillow I made, The glider was a kijiji find, and the lamp, bookcase, curtains, and quilt on the wall were all from Ikea. |
 |
| Crib view and more of the dollar store wall decals. Again, we reused some of Theo's nursery items, the mobile frame was his, but the felt birds and cloud in the centre were handmade by my sister. The bed skirt, like the valence had a lion on it, but I turned it around so the lion is facing the wall. |
 |
| The change table all set up, and baskets sorted and stocked. The fogs above the door were hand carved & painted by a friend of mine in university, and I made the nest on the wall, as well as the mini-owl garland strung across the table. |

| My wreath |
And that is the nursery! I've enjoyed finding a lot of deals on nursery decor or reusing what we already had. All of the furniture is IKEA, except for the glider & ottoman which was a kijiji steal. The frames, hanging birdhouses, baskets, craft birds, white curtain rods, & wall decals are all from dollorama. The curtains, lamp, rug, quilt & blue sheet are also IKEA, the owl blanket was a Zellers closing purchase, the nightlight is from Winners, and most of the other decorations were handmade by myself or a friend.
Thanks for looking,
